The Local Governing Body of Judith Kerr Primary School celebrates the 250th birthday of Alexander von Humboldt - the man who invented nature - with a screening of “Humboldt: Epic Explorer” and a talk with director Tilman Remme on

All the proceeds of the evening will be used to further expand German provision at Judith Kerr Primary School.
The film was shot in the jungles and mountains of Colombia and Ecuador and tells the story of the 'man who invented nature' and who discovered human induced climate change in the early 1800s. It follows author and historian Andrea Wulf as she re-traces Alexander von Humboldt's extraordinary journey of exploration. Tilman Remme Tilman has been writing, producing and directing documentaries, docu-dramas and factual dramas for more than 20 years, broadcasted on the world's most prestigious TV channels.
Tilman made his directorial debut in the multi-award winning documentary series The Nazis: A Warning from History, first broadcast in 1997. It is ranked 93rd in the list of the 100 Greatest British Television Programmes drawn up by the British Film Institute in 2000.
He grew up in West Berlin, close to the Iron Curtain. Tilman attended a German-American school and is bilingual in English and German. He went on to study History in Berlin, moved to London and obtained a PhD in International History at the London School of Economics. Tilman then worked as a journalist for the BBC's World Service as well as Panorama and Newsnight. In 2004, he went independent and founded his own production Company, Picture Films. He lives and works in London and has made films for more than 20 channels from around the world.
His awards include BAFTA, Peabody, BANFF, Broadcasting Press Guild, Cine Golden Eagle and the UK Broadcast Awards. Nominations include RTS, BAFTA, Grierson and Sandford St Martin Awards.
