Future Projects

JKPS opened in 2013 and over the years its facilities, both indoor and out, have been completely transformed. We have relied on parent fundraising and volunteering to develop the spaces available for the children, whether that’s the green space, the garden, the woodland area or the library. For a while it seemed we would lose the whole of our green space, but parents, carers and the local community rallied around, launching a successful campaign to keep it for the children to play and learn in.
As we enter the second decade of the school’s life, FoJKPS continues to work with the Senior Leadership Team and our parent community to enrich learning and enhance the school for our children to enjoy for many years to come. The school community is integral to making the school the wonderful place it is. We can’t do any of this without you!
Below you can read more about the projects we are fundraising for at the moment.
Sensory Room
The school is installing a sensory room to support all children's well-being and development. Sensory rooms provide a controlled environment where students can engage in activities that help them calm down, focus and improve their sensory processing skills. The room will offer a quiet, calming space for all students, especially those who may feel overwhelmed or anxious.
Installing a sensory room is part of the school's commitment to inclusive education, ensuring that all students have the support they need to succeed.
Up to £14,000 will be required to achieve the school’s full plans. The Masked Teacher event proceeds and a portion of the Oktoberfest and Winter 2024 Gingerbread workshop proceeds are going towards this, and work to create the room will happen over the Easter holidays 2025. If you would like to donate to the Sensory Room project, please head to the donate page and select Sensory Room on the dropdown.

10th anniversary Commemorative Project
In September 2023, JKPS celebrated its 10th birthday! The school commissioned an artwork to be created with visiting artists and school pupils. FoJKPS have raised funds to help create something that can be seen every day by pupils, teachers, parents & carers and visitors to the school, to celebrate the school’s first fantastic ten years.
Proceeds from our May 2024 Quiz Night and the 2024 Summer Picnic are going towards the project, which has been developed and workshopped over the Autumn 2024 and Spring 2025 terms with parent artists Stef and Lara. All children have drawn a “tile” that will form part of a bigger artwork, to be developed with Lara’s Morley College students.
The final location for the artwork is to be confirmed; it is intended to be prominent and visible in the entrance areas and the aim is to install it before September 2025.
If you’d like to donate to the artwork project, head to the donate page and select commemorative artwork from the dropdown.
At our 2024 Summer Picnic, the children brainstormed ideas for the artwork.

Early years playground improvements
FoJKPS are raising funds to help improve the early years playground. As of March 2025, plans are being finalised, and the school aims to add more sheltered spaces, outdoor storage, raised beds and interactive resources, for example weaving frames, wooden scales and cascading water trays.
Proceeds from 2024’s Wreath workshop, the Winter Fair and a portion of the Oktoberfest and Gingerbread house workshop proceeds are going towards this project.
The school aims to carry out the work required in Summer Term 2025.

Making our playground more inclusive
The school is committed to ensuring accessibility for all children, both internally and externally, and has asked FoJKPS to contribute towards making the playground more accessible and inclusive.
An example of an accessible pathway
The school’s primary focus is on creating a series of accessible pathways outdoors, and as of March 2025 plans are being drawn up. The school also wants to think long-term and allow for accessible play equipment and bigger projects like a Multi Use Games Area to be developed and fit into the space.
